Regus is a Belgian company, and at least here in the Benelux, they are not at all opposed to collaboration/cooperation with people who are using other models, under the "high tide lifts all ships" theory. I do think that the Coworking Visa could be developd in the direction that Regus has taken its Worldpass or whatever they call it; but I do not think that it is there at the moment, mostly because it seems to me that at the moment we do not have that market. I think we could get it, and easily, but that would require a higher level of collaboration amoung us than is now the case.
The Regus approach in one sentence is: Instant corporate office, reliable and with a certain minumum of services. Ours is more like, instant community, which is harder to sell -- and with reason. The people who really like Regus and the people who like coworking do not overlap all that much, and I have sent people to Regus and Regus "me too"s when I felt that their business lent itself more to that approach. I am not big enough to be all things to all people and not interested in trying to be. But the international angle could use more attention in my view. Indeed, there is no technological reason, really, that people should not be able to have one membership under which they could use spaces all over the world, except that we don't market it like that.
