fortunately, this landlord "gets it." they've turned away other startups and existing businesses because they didn't seem stable. both buildings have been vacant since August. i really wanted the building next to the one we'll be discussing but they're already in negotiations. he's really interested in the coworking concept based on the information we've already provided and wants to see how we can make the other building "work for our business." We met him for about three minutes Friday and it sounds like he's just looking for that confidence you mentioned "being that it is a startup"...his words.
