FYI, blinds do not stop the heat, since the heat will have penetrated thru the 
glass by the time it hits the blinds on the interior.  The only thing blinds do 
is reduce/stop glare.
The best is double-pane glass, and the cheapest is a window film to reduce 
infrared and UV rays.  An overhang can help if it's large enough for your 
building direction/longitude-latitude/etc.
