if you wanted to frighten me , you have succeeded perfectly.

Something more simple ?

Ciao Fabio

If you are frightened, just send me your .po files and I'll do
what's needed.

We do know we have to provide the most simple path for the nice
persons providing the translations. It is planned, it will come.
We just don't know when it will be ready.

Can I do the same thing for italian localization ?

Sure, and you are most welcome!

Just one thing: as you may have read, a lot of work has been done
to increase the quality of the .po files in CPS. Now we have unit
tests on .po files which check for well-formedness and also
information in the header of every .po file. Translator contributors
always send us well-formed .po files :-), but not always with the
awaited headers :-\

All the .po files of the CPS products have been modified so that their
headers are correct (as expected by CPS). This work on the .po files
made it possible for us to generate the following graphic presenting the
i18n coverage of CPS:
http://www.cps-project.org/sections/development/i18n

What it means is: if you send me .po files with broken headers, I
will have to modify each of them :-\ I will do it if you don't, but if
you can check that the .pot files you are sending me have the same
headers than the ones in SVN it will save me some precious time!

We have of course plans to automate all this and provide an easy path
for every translator contributor. We just miss the time to set it up
at the moment :-(

If you know how to run unit tests on Zope, you can check your .po files
yourself before sending them to me by doing something like:
/var/lib/zope2.7/instance/cps$ bin/zopectl test -vv --dir
Products/CPSDefault test_translations

Here is for example the result of a recent broken unit translation
unit test on the product CPSDefault concerning the latest Spanish
contribution (it has been fixed by now) :

/var/lib/zope2.7/instance/cps$ bin/zopectl test -vv --dir
Products/CPSDefault test_translations
Running tests via: /usr/bin/python2.3 /usr/lib/zope2.7/bin/test.py -v
--config-file /var/lib/zope2.7/instance/cps/etc/zope.conf --libdir
Products -vv --dir Products/CPSDefault test_translations
Running unit tests at level 1
Running unit tests from /var/lib/zope2.7/instance/cps/Products/CPSDefault
Parsing /var/lib/zope2.7/instance/cps/etc/zope.conf
Installing CPSDefault ... done (0.117s)
testPoFiles (CPSDefault.tests.test_translations.Test) ... FAILURE

After a while, I've updated the brazilian portuguese pot files for
3.3.4-2.

Would like to submit it; could somebody give me instructions where to
put/send the tar ball

Please send me your work as a tar ball and I will integrate it ASAP.

Thanks a lot for this work,
