Hi Steve,

Thanks a lot for sharing your manual with the community. There may be duplication of effort but that's never a big problem, and indeed yours is much more advanced than the previous ones we had in English. Keep up the good work!

Hi,
First, it was my mistake with sending a response to your discussion last
month. Sorry, I hope I get it right this time.!

You have obviously just started with the English manual.

I am fairly advanced with what I am doing and should have the manual
somewhat complete in the next month.

I will continue as I am because I need the documents as quickly as possible.

I don't pretend that the manual I am writing is ideal. It lacks structure
and leaves out a lot.

But, I need to get some documentation yesterday, so what I have already written is going to be fairly close to the finished manual. Hopefully I
will find any inaccuracies in the manual before I publish it.

I will upload a new version each week to the workspace I created on
cps-project.org, and publish the finished version ASAP.

If you want to continue the development of the English documentation for CPS I am willing to help with this, but not until after I have finished
this version.

My suggestion for the future would be to re-work what I have done, making sure everything is accurate. The structure of my manual is poor, and this could be re-worked for the next version. Some new sections could be added,
such as customisation, some tutorials, tips and tricks etc.

If you decide to continue with what you are doing, you are welcome to use
anything from the manual I have written.

Anyway, for now I am going back to adding images and re-writing the text as I go. As I said before, I need this yesterday, but its going to take
another few weeks anyway.

The manual is in a workspace, so if you haven't joined the site you

Great, we love and use a collaborative portal, but we still found the
way to duplicate work. :-)

Have a look at this:
http://lists.nuxeo.com/pipermail/cps-users/2005-August/001449.html
(and it's follow-up)

Well. The situation.
- The French documentation was the mainline.
- It was for CPS 3.2
- I had to update it for CPS 3.3 +
(not finished)
- The available translation os for CPS 3.2 (even 3.0)
- If you ever want to translate, translate the 3.3.+ one

I began the work here:
http://www.cps-project.org/workspaces/members/mihamina/ documentation/english/new_user_guide

The old one should only be use for insiration:
http://www.cps-project.org/workspaces/members/mihamina/ documentation/english/old_user_guide

At the moment, only:
mihamina
dkuhlman
joachim
are the workspace members.

You are politely encouraged not to directly overwrite the work but
create versions, the CPS way.

You can subscribe to the workspace so that you get notification when
things goes on.

I dont like the local roles of the main workspace area, it's too much
permissive that's why I used my member's workspace.

People who wants to become members of the workspace, to get invlolved
with the writing are welcom, just ask me in private.
