I don't think you are wildly over-exaggerating anything. What I believe (and
again I remind you that I write from a faraway vintage point, so that I am not
the most authorized one to speak of these things) is that you are thinking
English where you should think American, and that you are over-wishful-thinking
the relationship of American people and bourgeois democracy.
