To Whomever is Appropriate (:))
I have electronically submitted my ICOM membership application, selecting
CIDOC as my "voting interest" sub-community. My Individual dues "check is in
the mail," and Molly at ICOM-US has explained that my application has been
forwarded to Paris HQ where the next steps of processing my membership will
happen. (This being a process that may take 6-8 weeks to complete, maybe
less.)
My question here is, given my pending ICOM CIDOC membership, how do I
formally request membership in the CRM SIG?
I will happily comply with whatever process is appropriate for CRM SIG
membership as the idea that I would be a contributing member of this group
at this time is beyond exciting to me. I believe the #cidocCRM is poised to
"rise above" its ontological/descriptive roots and head into the
all-important role as an executable metamodel for the purposes of software
design and development of a new generation of "smart" software complemented
by "smart" data.
The idea that I may have an opportunity to contribute to this effort - after
circling the drain for a year and another crawling out - is more than I
could have ever hoped-for as a result of my inexplicable good luck to have
survived my cancer battle when so many of my treatment buddies did not.
