I'd rather assume a many to many. In general, faceted classification is
the only way to avoid combinatorial explosions in the thesauri. The .1
properties should be equivalent to free subproperty declarations. Any
technical reason for such a constraint?

I have always considered there to be only one possible .1 per instance
of the base property. Any additional “complexity” can be dealt with in
the Thesaurus supporting the E55 Type. Of course if you implement with
the PC class then the world is your oyster!
