My biggest obstacle (grudge?) against using gtk-v2 client is no -split option. It is good for big/small/multiple screens, and I find playing without quite restrictive.
Also (last I tried) it fails to compile on cygwin, but that is probably easily fixable if I were to seriously consider using it.
