Well, not to sound insulting myself, but that's complete and utter bull.
Number one, they were not rants. You seem to be making me out to be an
asshole here, when in fact I would have been more of an asshole if I'd just
told him where he could find an intake and left him alone. This list is not
designed as a place where we give any old answer that someone wants to hear
just to save time or get rid of them. His questions were barking up the
wrong tree. I could easily have sent him to some place that sells a $150
intake and he'd probably have gone and bought it. Then he'd have been REAL
disgusted when he put it on his car and discovered that, at best, his car
was louder. I told him what he needs to know in order to get REAL help in
building up the performance of his car- - namely, he needs to learn about
cars and how they work before he goes and spends truckloads of cash (and if
he's like me he does not have an unlimited well of money around) on random
parts that add little, if any, performance.

This is kind of like a question I got on a videography mailing list. Guy
said he wanted a DVC-pro camera with a shutter. Some jackass sent him to a
very expensive and not very good camera in response instead of pointing out
that ALL video cameras have a shutter and that the guy needed to learn what
he was talking about before he wasted over 5 grand on something useless. I
feel that guy would have been better served if someone had provided him
with links to where he could LEARN about cameras before he bought it (as I
did by telling him to read this list and to look at the CRX forum). Instead
that guy just gave him the quick, easy answer that didn't help one iota.

I apologize if it upsets anyone, but I don't play that game.
