When I went to lunch, my fast idle on my car went to almost 3K, where it normally only goes to a solid 2K. But then even more odd, it started to fluctuate the rpms in a strange manner. It sits at 2700, then drops instantly down to maybe 1100 rpm. Then it raises quickly back up to 27, then down again...up and down...
It continued this until the fast idle kicked off. I think it's possessed! ;) For real, anyone ever run across this? Or know what I should look to? I don't think that there are any vaccuums for the fast idle are there? Also...I wanted to lower my car, but the wife veto'd the funds, so I did the unthinkable...I chopped my springs. I didn't go too drastic, only two coils in the rear, and three in the front. I do plan on taking the third out on the rear though, to make it more even. I looks a hell of a lot better now, but I definately see why people vote against this. The ride is very bouncy, or pogo like. This will have to do until I can get springs for the car, which I don't know if I'll go coil overs, or with something like the Eibachs, or NEU's. Also...I got my exhaust fixed, car sounds pretty sweet now. I will be shooting an mpeg of it hopefully tonight. It still has a little bit of the raspy sound, which I think that if I put a small bullet in line, will take that out. I ended up with (for the time being) 2 1/4" pipe from the test pipe back, going to a hooker 2.5 in/out aerochamber, 2.5" pipe to the tips, which are hooker header twin resonated 3" tips. If and when I ever get around to doing the turbo on it, then I'll have the pipe between the test pipe and the muffler replaced w/ 2.5". I immediately noticed difference in my midrange pull...it's considerably more agressive in the butt-o-meter. It's amazing how just a couple of little things like the wheels and the height can totally transform the way a car looks. It went from being a not so bad looking ride, to now lookin pretty damn sharp! ===== Willy 89 CRX Si 16X6 Enkie CDR9's (center blue caps on order) B18B, Tenzo CAI, 2.5" custom exhaust with turbo muffler, no cat, NGK plugs, wires, and distributor upgrades, Tenzo short throw shifter.
