higher voltage may be beneficial, but the main reason you would add a 6a
or equivalent would be to get the multiple spark.  the 6a gives spark
over 20 degrees, which is about two at max rpm (or so i've read, anyway).
 another option is the mallory hyfire via.  i just installed one of those
in my 85 civic.  its a digital box (6a is analog) so it's supposed to be
"4 times faster" than a 6a.  it fires over 22.5 degrees and is cheaper
too.  starts easier, idles better, runs smoother/quieter, pulls
harder/longer, better mileage (still being determined).  supposed to have
better emissons too from the more complete combustion, but i wouldn't
know anything about that.
