The oil control jet is just a small orifice located on the top of the block
in the middle (Between Cylinders #2-#3) on the firewall side of the motor.
There isn't a ball located within. It is alot easier to remove with a long
piece of bar stock puching it out from the bottom up, with the oil pan
removed. Since you don't have it torn down that far I really wouldn't worry
about the oring if you can't carefully remove it with a pair of pliers. I
tried this method before without much luck. The o-ring is a very tight fit
in there so I wouldn't worry about it leaking past the orifice even though
it is old.
