2. if your looking to beat a 5.0 with a b18c 1.8litre its probly not gunna happen without intake/header/exhaust upgrades. i have a b16a1 in my rex with intake/headers/exhaust and ive raced one 5.0 modded but i dont know what was. most likely exhaust. i kept up with him untill i shifted out of second, into third he had a couple car lengths on me.
prices for a b18c into a si rex range from 5-7 grand from what ive seen. thats just putting the engine in. from there youve gotta get whatever you want added as far as bolt ons or forced induction running low boost. with that much money you could have a b16 in your car with 3-5g's left over for build up and turbo. thats why i chose to conform to what everyone else does :)
