I do not mean to use this great list as a pulpit or a podium, however this is a serious topic currently up on the voting block here in Cali. If your car holds a value over $5,000 , it will be subject to the new car registration increase now being considered. They ( Democrats appear to be the majority supporters for this) want to TRIPLE the registration fee for cars with a value over $5,000. So if you have a new car worth over $20,000 and is a year or two old....your registration is usually $500 or thereabouts. With this newly proposed increase, that $500 will be $1,500! I know many of you at least have a friend with a new car or truck. This is NOT the way to bring our deficit into balance! It will only create contempt for our lawmakers in Sacramento. I personally DO NOT OWN A NEW CAR OR TRUCK. I actually just bought a replacement 89 Si for the one I rolled a few weeks back. And quite frankly, with gas about to take the h! istorical and eventual war time price rise......I will feel for those who own the large gas guzzlrs, because they are going to get double %$#@$# with the registration increase. So I went to Cali Senator Tom Mc'Clintock's website http://www.tommcclintock.com/ and ordered 100 forms sent to me to get signatures against the proposed increase. You can learn a little more from that site on the issue as well. If anyone is interested, let me know and I can mail a form for you to fill out and return. California is in the dog house financially, and I also learned that Gov Davis office had spent 38% more out of our sate surplus that the previous year.
