California sucks... I don't know why ANYBODY would want to live there.

The same could be said elsewhere so be careful with that statement.

If they are so crazy about trying to preserve their precious smog-infested
atmosphere, then why in the HELL are they making it a PENALTY to own a
newer, presumably more-efficient and less-polluting car????

As bad as the L.A. smog is, it's NOTHING compared to what is in the air over Poland.

California and all of the people that live out there need to pull their
heads out of their asses and remove all of their stupid elected officials
from office and get people in there that know how to run a government.
With how high taxes and all the other fees are out there, WHY are they
having budget problems??

Not to get into a political debate, since this is NOT the forum for it, but EVERY STATE has a budget problem.  Just that California has gotten more media attention as of late.  And if you have a plan on how to get said elected officials out, please, by all means tell us.  It's very easy to sit back and pass judgement on other State's.

This is not meant to offend anybody that lives in California, but come on
-- get out of the dream land and into reality.

And where is that?  Texas?!?  :^)

  Most of my mom's family
lives in California, and I can't understand why they are out there.

The same can be said when people ask "why do we like CRX's".  Bottom line, either you do or you don't.  If you don't like it, leave.  Plain and simple...  No one is forced to stay here or anywhere in the 50 States.  That's what makes this Country so great.  Don't like your Governor or Mayor, leave and go somewhere else.

  Yeah,
it's a nice place to visit, been there MANY times myself, but damn, it's
just not worth the headaches and health issues.

FWIW, I AM NOT FROM CALIFORNIA even though that is where my residence has been since 1979.  I went to school here and even graduated from college here.  I was born and spent almost the first half of my life in Oahu.  People ask why I would want to leave the Islands... know what?  They too have their own political and bureaucracy BS too... Just like everywhere else.

California may not be the perfect State.  It has it's plus and minus sides and you know what?  Even with all that, I still call it home and I always enjoy coming home to it whenever I travel.

I have nothing against Texas.  My sister and niece lives out there (3 years now).  My niece, 7 years old now, hated it the first year.  Said people there talked funny.  She was sad that it was all flat looking and that there were no beaches.  She will always be a California girl.  She loves coming back to San Diego to visit and she tries to as often as she can.  Granted, she is too young to understand the price we Californian's pay to live out here.

California is expensive to live in and the job market here is not that great (although the Job Wanted ads in the paper always seems to contradict this).  But for the people that are able to afford to live here, it's well worth it.

Trust me... there are times where I am so PO at the State that I really feel like packing up the family and move to another State or Country (almost took a job offer a few years back in B.C. Canada...) but when I cool back down and come to my senses, I have to admit that I have a pretty good thing going here and bottom line, I love residing in San Diego County.

I can understand where other people here in California are "trapped" and can not just pick up and leave because they just can't afford it.  It's pretty much a Catch-22 with many and so the best (and I use that term loosely) is to stay where they are and go on with their daily lives.  If anything, it gives them something to work towards... that's how my sister ended up in Texas.

The job market here was just giving her the opportunities to go further unless she got the experience needed.  She's a RN and wants to be a CRS (Clinical Research Scientist).  So she looked outside of California and found a job opening in Texas where she could get the experience.  While the family offered to help pay her way out there, she managed to do it on her own.  When she builds up the necessary experience, she will look back to moving to California.  She too says that she misses California even with it's dirty air and expensive ways.

So... maybe all California's are whacked in the head...  I dunno...

Sorry, folks, I don't want this to turn into a political debate and I rarely like to argue other people's views and opinions but this one kinda struck me too personally.  I've known Ricky for a while and respect what he has to say (and 9 times out of 10 I agree with him) and I know he was not trying to take a personal shot at people that live out here (at least I would hope not) but I just wanted to put in my opinion as to why anyone would want to live here.

CRX content... So far so good since replacing the ground on Jiggy...  :^)
