My friend went to Siggraph and he bought me the CDs (his Supervisor presented a paper). I haven't gone through the papers yet but if you see anything interesting and want the full version please let me know.

Also, if there's something interesting that you wanted implemented I would be happy to try it out.

up the long list of interesting topics from GDC this year, GDC last year, SIGGRAPH this year etc.. so I would be surprised if this made any difference whatsoever.

The papers can be hard to understand. It may be hard to find
volunteers to implement the algorithms to a specific engine.
Gems type books are usually easiest to understand. Siggraph
papers seems to require a Ph.D. But I check the papers
every year: what siggraph paper you had in mind?

We could pick up the free sample chapter on cone mapping and
check together (anyone of you).

Waiting patches has been proven to be wrong approach to encourage
people to develop.

OK. I got the GPU Gems 3 book free. I also have hours to give out
if you need help in checking details or do something under your
guidance.
