I asked a friend of mine if your request is achievable as he builds
faxing solutions, his reply is below.

Hi Dave

We do this a lot for companies already. A little more advanced than what
Carol was after.

Basic:
Faxes are sent to a fax number which we collect and email to the
required users pop account as a TIF or PDF attachment. Up two three
e-mail addresses can receive a copy of the fax.

Advanced:
A piece of software at the customers site extracts the fax from the pop
account and determines which is the best printer for the fax and prints
the fax. i.e. every printer in the building can now have a fax number
associated with it. The fax is also archived and can be viewed via the
GUI tools etc.

Shortly we will also have the service available via a WEB login, so that
users can access the web, view the history and view/down load the
received fax. Basically the InfoClient being replaced with a Web
Browser.

Unfortunately, we only supply Auckland, Hamilton and Sydney numbers for
this service. So if anybody in Christchurch wants an Auckland fax number
for there clients to use, good cost savings can be achieved.

Subject: [csforum] Receiving faxes via an adsl connection

Hi all,
I would like to find a service, operating in NZ, which will allow
people to send faxes to me, which I can then pick up via my adsl
internet connection. Somehow I've convinced myself that this must
be available. I don't mean using my modem/computer to emulate a
fax machine connected to the phone line, I mean a bogus phone
number, which when you send a fax to it, will hold the fax ready
for me to collect via the internet.

Does anyone know of such a thing?

thanks in anticipation
Carol
