I know this goes offtopic a bit, but I have a strong feeling VALVe has been neglecting communities for quite a while now.
First we get VALVe ran servers, then quickplay, matchmaking etc. across all their games. Each of them driving people further away from connecting to and building communities together around their games. Now they've announced the Steambox, a more closed than open platform. VALVe are shutting themselves off from the communities. The very communities that helped them getting successful (steam could only make a successful launch because of CS and their community ran servers). It worries me that the single company that always seemed very open and helpful to their community is now slowly chancing into companies such as EA, DICE, MS, etc. Saint K. ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of ics [[email protected]] Sent: 11 December 2012 13:21 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Csgo_servers] Reporting cheaters Thats not the issue. Problem is that the ban applies ONLY to official valve servers, not to any community servers. This leaves them free playground to go on. Vac bans apply to all servers and if he is chating, why valve handles them with silk gloves? To not alienate the players from this game? This shows pretty clear sign of community servers being treated poorly vs official ones and cheating not being such a bad offence after all. -ics ----- Alkuperäinen viesti ----- > Dang, people will find a way to complain about anything.
