There is some fallback system in place. The servers will try asynchronously connect back to Steam on random intervals (TF2 atleast) and it seems CSGO servers do the same thing. Yesterday folks were getting the error "Failed to join session. Session is full" even though the server had slots free. So steam "lobby" went down and no one was able to connect in during steam was down. It seems to have balanced itself later on. Quickest way still is to restart the servers once everything works at Valve's end again.

All,

Anyone else seeing an issue where an outage of the Steam Community system for a given region causes servers to be unconnectable until they are restarted or enter hibernation? I suspect it is because the community lobby state is lost when the centralized services restart and the server does nothing to recreate the lobby until a reservation request is received.

Are there any known workarounds? Is there a way to tell (via Source Mod plugin or something) that the lobby was lost (so we can be made aware and take action)? Is Valve aware of this bug and is it scheduled to be fixed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Will Graham
