But at same time, things can get more tricky to validate... more rules 
to remember vs. other less forgiving doc types. IMHO, I would not 
suggest noobs start with strict doctypes.

But then again, I kinda came into web coding using a transitional dtd, 
so I am biased. Maybe strict would be easier?
