Thank you David.  Actually I temporarily abandoned the Holy Grail to  
experiment with Ryan Brill's Negative Margins/Faux Columns approach.   
This necessitated reorganizing the directory structure to keep track  
of templates. Also, I know the directory is unprotected.  That's on  
purpose so that I and my client don't have to deal with passwords etc.

Thank your for looking at my file. As I said, I started experimenting  
with the Negative Margin/Faux column approach and think I've come up  
with a workable alternative that doesn't seen to break in IE5 through  
IE7 plus it works in Firefox Mac/Win and Safari.

Good idea.  I'd like to make the Holy Grail work. And will
