I agree with Jeff here. My 15 years in the Cape Town development hiring
world (usually as one of the team of interviewers), job market and
general industry has shown me that the majority of senior management and
even 'real' (non token) jobs still go to white professionals. These are
still the people calling the shots and that is why the 'referral'
network perpetuates the status quo.
