Yes, or maybe you havent heard of Oracle yet.
where i used it the last time was with JAVA Oracle collections
The problem i had was to update a batch of records approx 60000 recs it could be at a time ran too slow
 
i found the solution of using oracle collections which made it run tremendously faster
