Hi,

Just a correction to this:
Lisa wote
"J2EE 1.5 is not final yet, so no-one can be certified for it."

Well, J2EE 1.5 spec is final and there are already two app servers that are certified and you can find them on this link
http://java.sun.com/javaee/overview/compatibility.jsp

The others IBM, Oracle, Weblogic, JBoss and yes people at JONAs  are busy breaking their backs to get their app servers certified. As to when..well you just have to wait. My advise is on a production server, stay put. On the development server keep experimenting.

Boniface

Hi Paul,

I think that link you found on Jira may be a little premature or be
referring to a DR, but I am following up.

I would recommend that you go with 4.0.4, but select the ejb3 profile
when using the installer. This will give you forward and backwards
compatability between the 2.x and 3.0 EJB specs. This version of JBoss
is also well tried and tested and is recommended for production.

Application Servers get Sun certified against released of J2EE. JBoss
4.0.4 out-the-box is 1.4 certified. J2EE 1.5 is not final yet, so
no-one can be certified for it. JBoss is part of all the JSR groups
and was the first app server to be 1.4 compliant, so I do not
anticipate any issues with compliance once the spec is release.

I would not recomment use of JBoss 5.0 in production merely because I
am not aware of anyone who is using it production.

I will let you know what my digging finds regarding the announcement
you found. When will your upgrade go live?

Regards,
Lisa
