If we were to upgrader JBoss, then I agree with you that 4.0.4 is the better candidate. I however tend to agree with Boniface - since JBoss is however not Java EE 5 certified, I'm hesitant to go this route... especially if JBoss is preparing to get certified within the next couple of months. To answer your question, I think we'd be looking at upgrading only in about 2 months time. Regarding the release of the EE 5 spefication... Just like those who responded to your post, I thought that EE 5 has already been released. I found the same page that Boniface found (http://java.sun.com/javaee/overview/compatibility.jsp) listing 2 app servers which are EE 5... compatible. Does "compatible" mean "certified"?
