It has come to my attention that some librarians are concerned about the
deadline of September 14 to mail the "Non Resident Fee Status Form." The
purpose of this form is to give us some indication of the likely status of
each library regarding non-resident fees and/or the TexShare Card program in
advance of the deadline of November 30. It is not a legally binding form,
just an indication of your plans.

We do understand that some libraries will plan to either drop non-resident
fees and/or join the card program, but will be unable to follow through with
these plans. This is not a problem; we will verify status (by "Assurance of
Compliance - Non-Resident Fee" form or TexShare card participation form on
file), before any grant formulas are calculated.

If you do not mail your form by September 14 your award will not be
affected. However, the sooner we get the forms and are able to begin
processing information the more smoothly program implementation will
proceed. We must have all necessary forms from every library before we can
move forward. We will begin contacting libraries that have not responded at
all by late September. Please help us and the other libraries in Texas by
responding as soon as possible.

Once the November 30 deadline has passed we will begin calculating award
amounts and will notify libraries of their awards as soon as possible

Please let me know if you have any questions.
