One of our solutions when we found ourselves running out of room was to allow longer check outs (we went from 3 days to one week). Won’t help forever, but it might be a good stop-gap.

Our videos are displayed on slat wall holders at an angle.  We were fortunate to acquire these shelves and holders from a video store that went out of business. But, we too, have run out of room and will have to figure out something soon.  We just finished weeding the non-fiction videos but the fiction videos are difficult to weed because they check so often.  Our videos are displayed and checked out in their original plastic cases.  If they do not have a plastic case, we put them in a case with the original cardboard case showing through.  Videos are a very popular check-out item in the heat of the summer (like right now!).  Our check-out period is 3 days for videos.  If they were all in at the same time----well, we don't know what we'd do with all of them!

How do you display and store videos? Does anyone keep their video tapes in the original packaging? We are out of storage area for the tapes and are wondering what to do.
