Would you like to learn more about health information literacy? Do you know
how health literacy and readability of health information are measured?
Would you like to know what your colleagues around the country are already
doing in the area of health literacy? Then mark your calendars for September
10th and make plans to attend this important satellite teleconference
produced by the Medical Library Association!
The Texas State Library is currently completing the paperwork to make this
teleconference available FREE OF CHARGE at 10 different locations around the
state for Texas library staff. As the paperwork is not yet complete, this
program must be advertised as tentative. Another announcement will be sent
once the program is completely confirmed. However, since the program is
about a month away, we wanted to give you advanced notice so you might begin
making arrangements to attend this wonderful continuing education
opportunity.

A Webpage has been built with a list of host sites for this event:
http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/workshops/teleconferences/2003/sept10.html .
Additional host sites are pending so please check this Webpage frequently to
view host sites that have been added. **The Texas State Library is making
every effort to make this event available throughout the state, however,
please note that if it so happens that a host site is not located
conveniently to you, you can make plans to borrow a videotape of the program
from the Texas State Library after the event has aired.** An announcement
will also be posted to this Webpage once the event is 100% confirmed. If you
are planning on attending the event at any of the host sites, all that is
required is that you contact the site coordinator at that site at least 24
hours in advance of the event in order to notify them of your plans to
attend. Space is limited at some of these sites so please make arrangements
early.
