Mini-Grants Available to Support Join Hands Day Projects DEADLINE: February 2, 2004 Through the Points of Light Foundation's Youth & Family Outreach Department, Join Hands Day is making available up to seventy-five mini-grants of $250-$500 to fund youth-led (up to age 25) community-service projects on May 1, 2004. The goal of Join Hands Day is to develop relationships between young people and adults through volunteering. The program is designed to create an opportunity for young people and adults to tackle a problem in their neighborhood and make it better. Only organizations are eligible to apply (interested individuals must partner with an organization), and projects must be planned to take place on Join Hands Day, May 1, 2004. Requested funds can be used to support staff time, project supplies, transportation, etc. Guidelines and application forms, selection criteria, and an FAQ are available at the Join Hands Day Web site. http://www.joinhandsday.org
