The donation thing is what Lampasas does. We set no price on anything that goes on the "donation" table. People who want something give a donation at the circulation desk. The amount is completely of their choosing. Needless to say, we save the best "stuff" for the booksale and only put out things that we don't think would go in a booksale.

The Friends of the Library would like to have an on-going book sale at the library.  I would like to find out how other libraries do this without paying the sales tax.  I understand that State Law stipulates that non-profit organization can do two 24-hour fundraisers without paying tax.  One suggestion I heard is to ask for donation of the price of the book instead of collecting the the sale price.  Do you have any suggestions
