I do know the feeling about this. A patron gave us a beautiful Christmas Book and we elected to keep it available only for use in the library. These books are really wonderful, but for circulation purposes, we have elected not to purchase them. They simply do not hold up under general circulation. I have a few that I keep and use only for story time and they sometimes get a little rough treatment since little ones aren't always delicate in handling them. I don't know about the rest of you, but this is our answer to them.

All--

Here is a question from a member library. Your response to the list would
be dandy.

Subject: Question about Blubonnet Book

Hi Susan,

One of the Bluebonnet Books this year is a fabulous pop-up by Robert Sabuda titled Encyclopedia Prehistorica Dinosaurs. My question is, what are other
libraries doing with it? Do I circ. it? Do I put it in reference? Do I
hold it at the desk and ask for a blood sample before someone can touch it?
(only joking, really!)

It is a beautiful book. I know the kids will love it. I would just hate to
see it damaged. I could really use some feedback on this.

Thanks so much,
