Hi Clara--Fewer and fewer places are providing
headphones because more people have their own and
because of concerns about cleanliness (although except
for a few very unfortunate events, most of the
concerns seems to be no more founded than concerns
about using public phones and such). However, some
libraries have started "mucking up" their head phones
(I'm actually being a bit polite there) by putting
duct tape on the headphones so that they are
unappealing to those who would walk off with them. We
always bought inexpensive sets and replaced them
frequently but also did the duct tape to disuade loss.
