Building Checklist Maintenance

This onslaught of gully washers in central Texas has probably provoked many
of us into thinking about building maintenance. Whether it's planning for
routine problems (leaks in a roof, the motor breaks on the a/c unit) or
planning for unexpected disasters (flooding, tornado damage, fires), here
are some resources to help you be prepared:

* State Library of Kansas's Maintenance
<http://skyways.lib.ks.us/KSL/development/maintenancechecklistforpubliclibra
ries.pdf>  Checklist for Public Libraries
* State Library of Ohio's Disaster
<http://winslo.state.oh.us/services/LPD/disaster_frnt.html>  Preparedness
Plan for Small Public Libraries
*       ALA's Disaster
<http://www.ala.org/ala/washoff/woissues/disasterpreparedness/distrprep.cfm#
dplan>  Preparedness and Recovery Resources
*       dPlan <http://www.dplan.org/>  - the free Web-based
fill-in-the-blank program for writing institutional disaster plans
*       Texas Library Association's Disaster

Keep the umbrellas handy, drive safely, and let's hope for some clear skies
ahead. - Kam

Thanks!
