If someone calls your library and says they need to get the model number off of your printer, do not give it to them. If you are leasing your printer from a company, they should have this information on your machine. These people are just trying to find out what type of toner or ink to try to sell you in the future. If they sound the least bit legit, have them confirm their company name and identification before giving out any information.
We just got our second toner scam phone call in two days. I just thought it might be worth while to mention this in case it happens to any of our members. I am sure there are a million other telephone scams. If you know of any others, share them with us so we can all be on the look out! Thank you! And Happy Friday!!
