We are non-profit, and in the past have tried to audit ourselves, and it hasn't worked very well. This year, we hired an outside auditor, to do the audit, and also set in place a system so we can do a meaningful audit ourselves. We thought it a good idea to put something fairly professional in place while everything is running smoothly.
