Gahhhl-lee! I shore don't know but then again I haven't been to all them
places where them folksies are to aks them puhrsnally. So, I shorely don'
know waht's goin' on with all them.

I jes thunk them pitchurs in valley were intresting. Maght have sumpin' ta
do with this bein' a trend, ya know, Noo Yak City, Tejas, someplace in --
where -- Aussie-Trailer? (Maght've been somewheres else.)

An interesting read is *The Politics of War* by Karp in which he describes
the way that McKinley manipulated American foreign policy to include
imperialising Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines (not forgetting Hawaii
on the way). This slid through and all was coasting until something having
to do with insurance companies ignited the Populist-Progressives and
effected some changes in how things worked with people's pension funds
and the Equitable Life Assurance Society scandal. All the way back in the
19th/early 20th Century (Roosevelt was VP until McK got popped). What's
the old slogan? "Remember the Maine"? It may seem superficially like it's
about nudity and war but it might be more about not only those things as
well as Enron, WorldCom, Global Crossing, and a few other things that war
may be distracting them for the time being. McKinley also had a sorry
economy to deal with and war was one of his distractions.

We don't assume that because a bunch of exhibitionists get down on the
snow or the gravel or whatever, wherever, whenever that they are tuned
out of what's happening. We also don't assume that the people confining
themselves in governmental buildings are not aware of the things people
do to express their disdain with any many several issues.

Ah, the present tense! Needless to say, as costs have risen, the average
worker's pay has stayed the same or fallen behind. All we need to do is
canvas our neighbourhoods for modern-day June Cleavers or Donna Reeds
or any of them domestic managers who've taken their skills outside the
home to other workplaces 'cause one check just don't do get it no more.
One of the more glaring results of this is the day-care centre where
people get used to socialisation from an early age in residences that are
not their own. And, then there's Jenny Craig, WeightWatchers, and who
knows how many other systems for which people pay who knows how
much money -- for what? A limited diet? How ironic!!!

Economic perks? Like Enron execs who paid themselves over a $Billion for
their hard work?

Enron's top 200 execs paid themselves $1.4 billion in 2000
