Probably much later than that. The clerics didn't start complicating
things until they became well established. Probably after the destruction
of the first temple when the population was enslaved and taken to Babylon
where the Rabbis created a framework of cultural rules to keep the exiles
intact. I think this is correct, but I'm not sure.
