Right now I'm working for a company who provides software for companies
to do stock accounting (companies who either provide stock to their own
employees, or stock brokerages who handle other companies' accounts)...
when we surveyed these companies regarding whether they wanted MY company
to provide coverage over the Y2K weekend, the overwhelming response was
that they don't even plan to be working that weekend...only a few of the
very large firms said they would have anyone in that weekend to check for
the Y2K bug, everyone else plans to close and lock their doors.
So it doesn't sound like those who are involved in the stock market are
particularly concerned...

This is what _I_ fear...that the government will use Y2K as an excuse to
institute this, irregarless of the REALITY....
