Sounds very similar to Janet Wiegand's kids in CT, money and/or connections

Subject: Re: [CTRL] Fwd: homeschoolers kidnapped by state

I know these people personally. Patty was my neighbor for a while fifteen
years ago.  We remained friends even though I moved away. I often do child
care for Hans and Nils. I take them to parks and museums. I had them for
five days last year while their mother was in the hospital having a lump
cut out. I know these kids really well. Patty's an excellent, caring
mother. She's a hardworking teetotaler and a better teacher than any I
ever had. The kids are academically way ahead of their peers in public
school. They are in no way isolated from the community or other kids. They
have friends, both in the neighborhood and out. They spend a lot of time
at the YMCA where their plan is to learn to be life guards so they can
earn money for college. They're smart, funny, happy, healthy kids. They
are NOT isolated just because they don't attent a state run school. I'm
itching to testify in court to this effect and have numerous photographs
to back up my case. So does Patty.

The real problem is their father wants custody and his family are
multi-millionaires. The grandfather was a Washington state senator for
years. The father's family money and political influence has apparently
been influential in manipulating  the evaluator from child protective
services. Before Patty left him, the father was neglective of the kids and
physically abused them. Patty has a  video tape of one of them with very
fresh bruises from being viscously backhanded in the face by his father.
On the tape he talks about how scared of his father he is. Patty submitted
this tape to the evaluator, but it did no good.

These kids do not want to be returned to their father. They are deathly
afraid of him. When the cops came to take them away, they resisted. But
they are only nine, and there were a dozen cops.  They were quickly
overwhelmed. Patty wisely did not resist and is not in jail. She is,
however, in quite a jam and could use all the help and advice she can get.
It looks like Wed. is the earliest she can get into court to plead her
case.  In the meantime the kids don't get to ride the float in the
Earthday parade as they'd planned. They have to spend Easter in custody.
If there is anything any of you can do or say to help, please do it,
please do it NOW.

Thanks in advance.
