I see three basic conspiracy angles to inflation. The mass mind control
media distortions you mention are one. Then there's the monetary
manipulations of the Fed and its friends. Third, we should consider social
engineering. Growing up in a society where parents work 70 hours average
between them produces quite a different personality than one where one
parent works 35-40 hours a week.
I am continually struck by the absurdity of the so-called "labor saving"
aspect of our technology. The !Kung, who live in what is arguably the
second or third least hospitable place on the planet work an average of
four hours a day to survive. Their primary tool is a pointed stick. We, on
the other hand, have electricity, internal combustion, flight, plumbing,
instantaneous world wide communication and an incredible assortment of
plastics and alloys. Nevertheless we bust our butts all day long and
barely make ends meet. Which culture is smarter? Happier? More stable?
What are we doing wrong (besides letting a handful of people tell us what
to do)?
