It's quite simple Bob. Management gets to decide what to do with corporate
moneys. They decide everything. They decide what wages should be and what the
benefits should be. They decide what the rules will be. This is power.
Nothing will change for working folks until two things happen. 1) They will
own the company, and 2) They will pick and control the management team.
State owned means of production and distribution did nothing for ordinary
workers. Private ownership of the means of production and distribution is even
worse because they can get rid of jobs and not deal with the human consequences.
The State had to worry about those consequences.
NOW IT'S OUR TURN! Let's just see what happens when workers own the corporations
that they work for and can fire and replace their managers. Do you think the
surrounding community would gain or loose from such an arrangement?
I'm not talking about owning a few stocks in your own company and calling that
worker ownership. I'm talking about all the profits going to you and your fellow
owners, not to some rich bastard with too much money who owns some part of your
business. I'm talking about active participation in how your business is run.
I'm
talking about management doing the actual work too so they know what the hell
is going on, instead of constantly attending meetings and writing off lunches.
It's the REAL LAST FRONTIER. It will certainly happen when capitalism finishes
itself off as it did in the 30's. A world (nuclear) war is not an option as it
was in the 40's. War will not save capitalism again. The cure would be more
devastating than the disease.
Think about it.
