That's really odd, but then I may be associating with the wrong Democrats.
Our mayor here is a woman, and she's not even an adornment--believe me. I
think the Conservatives haven't changed at all. It's ladies to the loo and
baby talk while the men enjoy cigars, jokes and meaningful conversation. The
requirement that ladies "submit graciously" comes from the very conservative
religious right. We are to take our marching orders from our husbands who
know so much more than we do. When he says jump, we pause only to ask how
high. The "promise" they are "keeping" is that they will get these dames in
line. I really need to meet a few of these Republicans who have such respect
for women's right. I must get out more. Prudy
