They kept making a point to state that all the houses in that area were
built on slabs and that they don't have cellars; but I wonder if Beck
would have had time in the 6 months he was in the house to have dug a
short tunnel from the house to, say, the city sewer presumably out in the
street...in which case when the teargas initially entered the house he
could have escaped thru the hypothetical tunnel, walked a mile or two in
the city sewer pipe, and emerged out of a manhole or storm drain, perhaps
to an awaiting accomplice (his girlfriend who lived with him?),
definitely out of the area where all attention was directed...
Especially if he had a cop's uniform he could have changed into before
emerging...remember, we're kept being told that this guy impersonated
cops, and indeed that was one of the things he had previously been
convicted of. It would not be farfetched to assume that he had some sort
of cop's uniform, or at least a fake cop ID and fake badge, good enough
to fool anyone in the neighborhood who saw a strange man emerging from a
storm drain...he'd just flash the badge and say that he was a cop,
assigned to make sure that the suspect didn't somehow escape to that
area. Most John and Jane Q's and Q juniors wouldn't question it any
further...
The idea that he may have built a tunnel to escape is farfetched, to be
sure...but it seems to me that anyone who is a convicted felon who
stockpiles weapons and at least allows his neighbors to believe he's a
U.S. Marshall, if not outright making that claim, should have had an idea
that at some point in time the authorities would come to arrest him, and
would have made provisions for such an eventuality....
Something tells me that there is much more to Beck than we are being
told...like, what has he been doing lately, other than allegedly
stockpiling weapons and attending parties and barbecues in his
neighborhood where he allowed neighbors to believe he was a federal
marshall? By all accounts the houses in that neighborhood run for just
under $1 million...how could Beck AFFORD such a house? Even if he rented
it and didn't own it, the rent for such a house would have been
huge...again, what has a convicted felon been doing for a living to
afford such digs?
