It's interesting in that I have just become aware of the various tribes of Israel that have been supplanted by the one, the Judahites. Where are all the rest - if they did indeed exist outside of literature? The literature of which I speak suggests that only one group was that "chosen", leading to the various currents of social, political, and religious supremacy. It's like sports, but just because the winner of Super Bowl takes home the trophy, that doesn't mean that the other dozen or so teams are vapourised. How it appears is there was only one team and in order to justify its accomplishments, a great effort was put forth to create fictitious teams and statisitics and all the attendant details in order to persuade anyone interested of their supremacy on the field of play. And they are a traveling roadshow with little or no risk of being found out when the stories are told 'round the campfire, roasting marshmallows, far from the supposed stadia where their contests were held. Only, others were doing the same thing. And stories don't jive.
