If I were depending on police, fire and military protection from foreign invasion without paying taxes you are correct, I would be very paranoid. Tax resisters should be required to waive the right to public services thoses taxes help finance. Fire? Sorry, you don't pay taxes, start carrying buckets from the creek. Burglars? It says here you don't pay taxes, handle it yourself. That is not to say all taxes are used wisely, but there are two sides to every issue.
