BF>We are a nation based largely on symbolism becoming real.  The Declaration of Independence is a symbol of equality (the first two paragraphs at least), as is the amended Constitution.  Try and point out that a number of our symbols are not Judeo-Christian in origin, and one is attacked as anti-democratic and not patriotic.  I have done so to my detriment.  I do not do so to attack the country.  I believe we should keep the Washington Monument as a secular symbol of patriotism.  As to the Statue of Liberty...I am too much of a man to attack a lady.  However, I attempt to get Americans to remove one portal of evil influence not directly connected to anything patriotic, something truly Satanic and not merely pagan, a move that would go a long way, and I get icy indifference, attack, and it would appear a few police choppers outside my window, perhaps unrelated to this but I still remember the black helicopters buzzing me a number of years ago and, yes, I am suspicious.  I get occultists, globalists, and super-patriots attracking me all at the same time.  I have learned the value of symbolism.  I know that one must be careful to distinguish one's course, and use spiritual discernment in knowing what to go after.
To some people the United Nations is a symbol of peace and freedom.  To Einstein, a hero of mine, it certainly was.  Einstein would have been unprepated to accept the truth, and I too much of a gentleman to upset him.  Therefore I would not attack it directly, but show that it is not what the idealists truly hope for.  Certainly it is not with Syria coming on to the Security Council, and with Taiwan and Tibet not represented.  The United States, a godly nation, albeit a degenerated godly nation, is voted off the UN Human Rights Commission while the Sudan and Cuba largely escape censure.  American corporations rule, which are undemocratic, while the one area where some degree of democracy exists, the government itself, based as it is on suffrage, would be voted out of the world super-government.  Come to think of it, libertarian conservatives who believe we should remain strictly republican and not democratic have not protested too much.  Alas, the power of symbolism!
To the subject, I believe that we need symbolism.  The three white guys are symbolic.  The mixed crowd is symbolic.  Perhaps we can have both, as long as they are historically accurate.  We must have pictures that represent who we are as a diverse nation.  Nimrod built the Tower of Babel as a symbol of man united in defiance of his ordained role.  God dispersed the people as a consequence.  It may be that this is about to happen again with the new Tower of Babel that civilization has erected.  However, it is also possible that we may be given a second chance to unify the races and tongues under a more holy auspice.  I am skpetical, but humanly we must consider it a possibility.   To do this we must be continually repentent.  Repentence is more than lip service to justice.  It is justice.  Justice demands that we represent all of th firefighters at work, in all of their diversity.  Let us do so accurately, but let us not be afraid of doing so.
    Enough said.  Thankyou.

so its ok to pre-change historyfor meaning?
meaning that meaning has no meaning?
and symbolism has more meaning than truth?
everyone that agrees raise you right hand, with meaning and symbolilism.
histoey should ALWAYS be the truth of what happened.
i'd have ho problem if the statue was a "artpiece" but its taken from a photo. so what is real?

Meaning and symbolism carry more weight than accuracy.
Put the fact that it isn't accurate on the plaque

Why is historical accuracy so important?

This is a memorial, a symbol, not a lecture or history book.

Subject: [CTRL] Fw: Sign this please-WTC Flag Raising petition

New York City is planning to erect a statue depicting the famous photo of
the flag raising at Ground Zero. They want to change what the photo shows
(three white male firefighters) and instead include an African-American and a
Hispanic. The website URL below is for a petition to have the statue depict
the flag raising exactly as it actually occurred...to make it historically
accurate, not politically correct. Would you please pass it on to everyone?

Thanks.
