As to who benefited most I would say it is right wing elements in this country, and their backers, the oil companies, who have benefited the most. But being able to capitalize on a situation is not the same as authoring it. While I think George Bush and those who wanted to clamp down on constitutional freedom in America benefited, I don’t think they were behind the attacks. I feel much the same towards Israel.
