Sure, that's why the ability is there.
Now I am asking if there are anyone around actually building and using
libcurl that way.
Ask in the next survey in the build section something like "do you make
builds of curl without a TLS library?" Also I suggest a "don't know"
option because I'm not sure everyone that replies to surveys like that
is going to know the answer.
