Hi

Just for people’s awareness, curl+gskit isn’t *quite* pining for the fjords yet.

There is an active community within IBM working with curl and gskit. Since
gskit support was removed from mainline we have maintained a private fork of
latest curl retaining the gskit support (you’ll have seen the odd PR coming in
as a result of this work recently, e.g. from my colleague Andrew Kirillov). To
come back to the topic of this thread, we are also therefore to an extent
reliant on the ‘no TLS’ options remaining clean.

For what it’s worth, and I do understand some of the history here - we are
working to be ‘good citizens’ and keep the fork in a state that it would be
useful to others again, and I would love to see this contributed back into
main. However, for that to happen of course there would need to be commitment
to a fully supported/open build process being available. Making that happen
isn’t trivial unfortunately – and I’m NOT in a position to make any promises on
behalf of IBM - but I will continue to advocate for that course from within
IBM, and I’m happy to be at least an initial point of contact if anyone wants
to discuss.

Kind Regards

I have actively tried to get someone to either work on or pay for work to get
the GSkit support back and done proper, without success. You would think that
perhaps IBM for example would like that, but apparently not enough anyway.
